The Entrance To The Park

The Friends and Chester City Council are very keen for the local community to contribute its thoughts before any decisions are taken as to how to improve the area.

In the past few years we have had a few false starts at making plans to make the car park area worthy of the rest of the park but we are glad that Rebecca Imber, Area Manager, Chester City Council, is now leading the project. Her first step is to give local people a chance to have their say. We have put up some photo ideas for improving the look of the car park area. When you have taken a look at the photos, please do leave your own comments on the web site, talk to any member of the committee, or Rebecca herself (Chester 402402) or email us your comments.

Countryside Day will be important for collecting your thoughts and we will have a table with lots of ideas which you will be able to comment on, or even better bring your own plans or pictures of other projects that you like. We have made some ideas available on-line and you are welcome to leave your comments there.

We want a design that will make a statement and be worthy of the park.

We do have to bear in mind that there are a few big occasions, like Hallowe'en, when we need extra parking on the meadow. At the same time, any improvement should discourage unwelcome overnight visitors.
